SIX YEARS OF COMPULSORY EDUCATION
• Subject grouping allows children to develop their different strengths.
• Curriculum assisted activities and moral education lies in action activities to provide a well-rounded education.
• The primary school leaving examination is conducted at the end of the sixth grade of primary school.
• Singapore citizens are not required to pay tuition fees except for the standard fees of $6.50 per month and additional fees of up to $6.50 per month.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S‑AEIS) is for international students seeking admission to Primary 2 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2 in the same academic year.
Singapore’s education system is known for its rigorous nature and high academic performance. Students who want to attend a government school must pass an entrance exam. There is one opportunity to enter these schools without the exam, but it is not compulsory.
